FIELD NOTES / REAL CUSTOMER WORK

What customers have said about our CCTV work

Three published reviews, three different kinds of job—and what they tell us to keep doing well.

Steve, Howard and The IT Guy team have been helping local customers with CCTV for years. These three customers shared their experiences on the Google profiles of The IT Guy Bournemouth and Aerial Wizard. Their stories show what good planning, a useful handover and practical support look like.

A new CCTV installation by Steve and Howard

For a local guesthouse in 2022, Steve and Howard planned a four-camera Hikvision ColorVu system around the owners’ budget and the cable routes they wanted kept discreet. They completed the installation in November. In his Google review, Josh Avery praised the communication, budget-conscious advice and efficient result.

What this means for a new enquiry: we should establish the view you need and the budget you are comfortable with before recommending equipment. The physical work and the configuration need to be planned together. That is the approach behind our new Hikvision installations.

Howard's CCTV installation and handover

Mike Edmunds wrote on Aerial Wizard's Google profile about Howard installing his CCTV system. He describes professional, courteous work, updates when minor changes were needed and a full demonstration of how to use the equipment.

What we take from it: a handover matters as much as the picture on the screen. We want you to know how to view cameras, find recordings and get help once we leave.

Getting an existing CCTV system working again

After water damage left Julia Liddle’s CCTV and computer equipment out of action, The IT Guy team arranged a visit and got both working again. She describes the quick response and successful repair in her Google review.

What it shows: not every customer needs a new system. For an existing installation, the first step is to understand the fault and what can be retained. Our takeover and support service starts there. We support existing Hikvision systems and can assess or add to existing Dahua systems; new CCTV installations are Hikvision.
